Legal Market Intel
Q: Is the job market getting better for attorneys out there?
A: That's a loaded question! But, all indicators are pointing to 'yes.' Although it appears it will be a slow climb back to where we 'used to be,' it seems that the lay-offs have subsided, and there's been a small, yet consistent, up-tick in legal hiring in key positions. Hot areas continue to be: Compliance/Regulatory; General Commercial/Contracts; Healthcare/Pharmaceuticals; Litigation; Intellectual Property; Energy/Environmental; and Risk Management. The good news is that the unemployment rate in Minnesota is usually lower than the national rate, and the legal profession's unemployment rate is always less than the general unemployment rate. So stay positive and keep plugging away with your job search!
